Real Time PCR Kits

Q16 genesig Instrument

q16The genesig q16 is a revolutionary instrument launched by Primerdesign Ltd. The instrument is designed to accompany the genesig® easy product range which includes kits for more than 400 different DNA testing applications. The q16 is designed to make DNA testing affordable and easy for anyone in any business.
DNA testing is the most sensitive and precise way to detect and quantify the presence of a DNA target. The underlying technology within the genesig q16 is real-time quantitative PCR. The technology has been around for 20 years, but to date has been complex and expensive to perform. The genesig q16 changes all that.

What can I use it for?

The genesig® easy product range includes tests for a massive range of applications:

Easy Kits:

The Primerdesign™ genesig® Kit genomes is designed for the in vitro quantification of a microorganism genome. The kit is designed to have the broadest detection profile possible whilst remaining specific to the genome.

These kits support 50 reactions and are produced for q16 Real Time PCR Machine and are closed to this system.

Open Kits

Designed and manufactured in Great Britain

The genesig range of kits is open platform. They are designed to work perfectly with any real time PCR machine available on the market.

Our core expertise is in the design of the very best real-time PCR assays.

Nucleic acid testing (NAT) is the method of choice for detection and quantification of a wide range of microorganisms. A copy number standard curve is provided for quantification and an internal extraction template (DNA or RNA), controls for the quality of the nucleic acid extraction and eliminates false negative results.

Almost all of the kits are lyophilized with long term of expiry date.

They are stable for more than 18 months at ambient temperatures.

Under optimal PCR conditions kits have very high priming efficiency of >95% and can detect less than 100 copies of target template.

Primerdesign real-time PCR reagents are manufactured to the highest standards within ISO9001:2008 and ISO13485:2012 certified quality management laboratory environment.

Types of Kit

Advanced Kits:

(With Positive Control, Endogenous Control, and Internal Control)

Kit contents

  • Primer and probe mix (most of our kits are packaged for 150 tests)
  • RT specific Primer for the Reverse transcription step (for RNA genome pathogens)
  • Copy number standard curve (sufficient for 4 standard curves)
  • Internal extraction control (DNA/RNA)

Internal extraction control gives detailed insight in to the success/failure of the nucleic acid extraction process

  • Endogenous control

Endogenous control reveals quality of biological sample

  • RNAse/DNAse free water

Standard Kits:

(With Positive Control)

Kit contents

  • Primer and probe mix (most of our kits are packaged for 150 tests)
  • RT specific Primer for the Reverse transcription step (for RNA genome pathogens)
  • Copy number standard curve (sufficient for 4 standard curves)
  • RNAse/DNAse free water

Mastermixes

  • OasigTM 2X lyophilised mastermix: (150 reaction)
Primerdesign Ltd oasigTM 2X lyophilised mastermix is optimized for use in qPCR. The product is stable at ambient temperatures for at least 18 months and can be conveniently shipped and stored at room temperature.
  • OasigTM lyophilised OneStep qRT-PCR Mastermix (150 reaction)
Primerdesign Ltd oasigTM OneStep qRT-PCR Mastermix is an optimized complete system for use in ONE STEP real-time PCR. Removal of a separate Reverse Transcription step, reduces handling errors, and greatly reduces the time taken to obtain results. The product is stable at ambient temperatures for at least 18 months and can be conveniently shipped and stored at room temperature. The MasterMix contains a thermo-stable TAQ Polymerase and MMLV as well as buffer, MgCl2 and stabilizers at concentrations optimized for the enzymes.

DNA/RNA Extraction Kit

ext2The genesig easy DNA/RNA extraction protocol begins with a simple lysis step where cells and tissue are lysed to release their nucleic acid. Then minute magnetic particles are added to bind to RNA/DNA. When placed on to the genesig magnetic separator the particles are pulled to the side of the tube making it easy to remove the unwanted supernatant with a pipette. Then a series of simple wash steps are performed before the DNA/RNA is washed off the beads back in to solution, ready for analysis by real-time PCR.

It’s fast, and incredibly easy to perform.
